The grooming clinic was a huge success this year!
Many, many thanks to Debra Stellini (professional groomer) who showed grooming techniques and instructions for coat dematting, Francesca Novak who assisted folks in the bath tubs area, Dottie Johnson who helped with trimming and brushing instruction, Jim Tobin for squeaking out at least two photos of the event before he was sent in multiple directions to help out plus cook the hot dogs and serve lunch.
Also, thanks to the many members who showed up and took advantage of this event. At the end of the event there was so much fur on the ground it looked like Christmas in July!
Attendees were taught the proper method on brushing and dematting, and I helped with saniclips on heavily coated dogs for a cleaner backside, they had their feet trimmed and sculpted and toenails cut, ears were cleaned, they were given baths and there were blow dryers for every grooming table. There were dogs everywhere! It was fairly cool under the shade of the trees and by the time someone turned up the heat most everyone had gone home. All agree we should do this again and we will.
The professional groomer is from: Granite Bay Pet Grooming 8659 Auburn Folsom Road, Granite Bay, CA 95746-6202 (916) 791-2500 and ask for Debbie. Debbie is less expensive than most groomers in the area and does the best job of all. In fact, she’s the only one who does my rescue dogs when I can’t and she’s the ONLY one I ever let do my show dogs! (how’s that for an endorsement)?

Thanks again to everyone who came and we hope you learned a lot. It was great fun and we will do it again (when it’s cooler). I ordered slicker brushes, untangler rakes and untangler combs for the event. Those that needed and wanted to purchase them did so at our cost and there are a few left over, so if anyone would like one of the Untangler Rakes, Untangler Combs and/or a Slicker Brush there are some available. Pictures of them are shown above and each brush/comb is $9 or a bundle of 3 for $27.00. I can mail them to you.
Thanks again,
Pam Tobin
